Things I love

I TRY not to do many fluffy pieces on my blog because I am a *serious* blogger… ha…

But I’m feeling like I need some non-seriousness going on here today. It’s been one of those… er… months? And don’t say “But Candice, the month just started like 6 days ago!”

I used to post things that I found online that I liked, dorky things that made me happy. You can check them out here and here. So I think I’m going to revisit doing that and share some things that I love!

Comfort books – Yesterday afternoon I was feeling kind of weird so I thought I really needed something comforting. Since I gave up meat for Lent I knew I couldn’t do something like comfort food (my comfort food does NOT include a meatless meal). I also wasn’t in the mood to watch a comfort movie. So I decided to indulge in the ultimate comfort: my worn out, Post-It marked copy of Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married. I pulled this off my shelf the minute I got home and dove in. It was like coming home, wrapping myself up in a warm blanket, snuggling on the couch. After nearly 10 years of loving this book, I’m still not sure exactly what it is that makes it such a comfort other than the fact that it is.

Lizzie Bennet Diaries – This is my newest obsession. And when I obsess, I OBSESS. Like I cannot stop watching the videos, despite that I’ve seen them all. Even though I know what happens in this story, I WANT TO KNOW IF DARCY AND LIZZIE GET TOGETHER! Like I am epically invested in this story and am yearning (yes, yearning) for more!

Mod Cloth Clothing – While I will most likely never buy anything from this website, it’s one of my favorite sites to peruse when I need a little pick-me-up. I love fantasizing about where I would wear different dresses to – a party, the beach, a picnic in spring… seriously, these fantasies are a little too detailed, but whatever. (Not-so) Guilty pleasure!

  1. I love the picture of Sailor Moon. I used to love that as a kid, and it makes me feel all nostalgic.

I have comfort reads, too! They’re probably Julie Garwood’s books – either The Secret, Saving Grace, Honor’s Splendor . . . yeah, I like almost all of her historical romances. Now I want to re-read one. My copies are really beat up, too.

So glad you are LOVING Lizzie Bennet! Counting today’s episode, there’s only 7 episodes left! I am not ready for it to be over, but at the same time I want Lizzie and Darcy to finally get together.

Now I need to go check out Mod Cloth Clothing. 🙂

  2. Aww I love Lucy Sullivan, I had an old dog-eared copy too! Have all my fave bits marked ready to cheer me up 🙂 You’re right, it is a comfort x

  3. I LOVE the Lizzie Bennet Diaries! With the last few episodes, they actually made me not 100% loathe Lydia like I do in the book. Somehow, LBD redeemed my least favorite literary character (who is not overtly evil) of all time, so that’s a win. 😀

  4. I’m pretty darn obsessed with The Lizzie Bennet Diaries, and I only started watching it last weekend! I tore through all the current episodes like crazy and now I’m dying to see how it ends (even though I kind of know how it ends, if you catch my drift). I definitely need more Darcy in my life! ❤

  5. The LBD is so fun! And comfort reads are the best. Somedays you need to push your obligations aside and indulge in an old favorite.

  6. I love perusing ModCloth too! The dresses are so pretty (I also love their outerwear and quirky jewelry) and I end up pinning a lot of the clothes to Pinterest! 🙂
