Top Ten Tuesday – Like that? Try this!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week they come up with a topic and invite whoever wants to add their own list to their own blog.

toptentuesday

Today’s topic is to recommend books for people who like a certain author or certain book. While that’s all fine and good, I have yet to have my cup of coffee this morning and that’s WAAAAY too much thinking. So I decided to alter it… a bit.

Here are my Top Ten Eight Books that I’d recommend you read if you like ME!

Rebel Belle, Rachel Hawkins – I was all into reading this one despite putting it off for so long. I actually didn’t know what it was about, but c’mon… this book SCREAMS me. Once I did figure out what it was about, I was a little iffy, but it didn’t take long to push that hesitancy away! So if you like me, you will trust me on this one.

Compulsion, Martina Boone – I cannot stress my love for this book enough! I also feel like it’s a good “me” book: Southern Gothic? Yes please! This is always the first book that comes to mind when someone asks me to rec a good Southern Gothic novel*

*no one actually asks me to rec one of these

Doon, Carey Corp – Sometimes I feel like my most beloved books are ones that are so uber cheesy that I get a little embarrassed telling people they should read them. It’s like YES, I KNOW the dialogue is kind of lame but just trust me on this, okay? Okay.

Woodcutter Sisters series, Alethea Kontis – This is one of the loveliest series. It is definitely one you should check out and just embrace the loveliness!

The Chaos of Stars, Kiersten White – If you know me at all, you’ll know that I’m not the biggest fan of Egyptian mythology. I’ve never been a fan, mostly because it’s kind of… rough. Maybe that makes no sense. So for me to rec this one is HUGE in my book. It’s funny, it’s mysterious, it’s just fabulous. Trust me.

The Caged Graves, Dianne Salerni – This is another one of those books that I feel always ends up on whatever list I’m making. It’s just that good and I wish more people would read it! We’ve known each other for a while now, right? Do me a favor and read this one.

Dirty Little Secret, Jennifer Echols – There are about a million things I found wrong with this book, but it’s still one of my favorites of Ms. Echols! Mostly because I simply fell in love with the setting, Nashville. So just put your insta-love qualms aside and pick this one up. Then tell me if you don’t get the urge to go out and buy a pair of kickin’ cowboy boots. I dare ya!

Texas Gothic, Rosemary Clement-Moore – Haaaaaave you read this one yet? I’ve only been rec’ing it since 2011!

Okay… so maybe this list is slightly conceited. But like I said… it’s early and I haven’t had coffee yet. 🙂

  1. Haha. So much fun! And I DO LIKE YOU, Candice. I haven’t read many of these, though. I have read Rebel Belle and really enjoyed it. And hello, Texas Gothic! We need to make it our mission to get more people to read that and other Rosemary Clement-Moore books. I just love her books.
