Miniviews – Among the Nameless Stars

There seems to be a TON of these novellas out there, and I really love them oh so much, but it’s really REALLY hard to write a full review about them! So I give you Miniviews! Miniature versions of my reviews that are perfectly designed for all the lovely novellas/short stories!

Novella: Among the Nameless Stars by Diana Peterfreund

book among the nameless stars

Series: Companion series For Darkness Shows the Stars

Character Focus: Kai

Spoiler? Nope. This is more filler than spoiler. In For Darkness Shows the Stars we see Kai return from being gone from the North Estate and having made his fortune. This novella shows his struggles before meeting the Innovations.

Must Read? This doesn’t explain anything to help you better understand the events in For Darkness Shows the Stars. Rather it gives you a better understanding of Kai and what he went through.

Final Thoughts: It was a little slow and honestly seeing Kai struggling wasn’t compelling. BUT! He writes all these letters to Elliot, just like we got to see in For Darkness Shows the Stars, and folks… my heart BREAKS for him! He’s torn, heartbroken, angry in his letters. He finds understanding and passion in his letters. We get to see this hurt young man grow in his letters. If you read this book for one reason, it should be so you can read these letters. I promise they are worth it!

  1. I pretty much agree with this review! This novella do a whole lot, but it was nice to see Kai writing letters. And yes, the Across a Star-Swept novella was pretty awesome!

    1. I liked the letters, but didn’t really feel much connection with what all Kai went through after he left. The Across a Star-Swept Sea novella though… pure awesomeness!
