To Do Lists, Young Adult

Summer reading, had me a blast! Summer reading, happened so fa-as-ast!

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature created by The Broke and the Bookish. Every week they come up with a topic and invite whoever wants to add their own list to their own blog.

This one is gonna be easy breezy today because I already have this list formulated! Last summer I started my serious summer TBR list, which is still saved on my computer, and sadly it kept getting bigger and bigger with the books I wanted to read! That and I finished my initial list in like 3 weeks. Whoops! Hopefully this summer I’ll have the very same problem.

Here are my Top Ten Books on my Summer TBR List:

Insurgent – Veronica Roth

City of Lost Souls – Cassandra Clare

Kill Me Softly – Sarah Cross

The Fine Art of Truth or Dare – Melissa Jensen

Sense and Sensibility – Jane Austen

Oh. My. Gods – Tera Lyn Childs

Hallowed – Cynthia Hand

The Selection – Kiera Cass

Die for Me – Amy Plum

Storybound – Marissa Burt

Here’s to a great summer of reading!

  1. Insurgent and City of Lost Souls are on my extended summer reading list, if they ever come in at the library. Gah, wait lists!

I’m so happy to see you’ll be reading S&S; I’m currently listening to Sense and Sensibility and Sea Monsters, and it’s making me miss S&S.

  2. I already read (and loved) Insurgent, and City of Lost Souls is on my Kindle, but I am definitely adding Melissa Jensen’s latest and Oh My Gods. My sister really dug The Selection, but we try not to read all of the same books, so I might save that one for now. Cheers!

  4. I keep a list on my computer too! I use goodreads but I’ve also got a word doc for when I want to quickly save the idea. Odd how a word doc sounds old school these days!

So I have a summer reading story about one of your books, so it’s inclusion made me smile. I spent one summer roommates with three guys. And they were awesome. But one Saturday they were all busy with other stuff so I took myself to the bookshop and bought Sense and Sensibility. Then I took myself to a fancy hotel and spent five hours treating myself to high tea – and stubbornly lingering – while I escaped into that book. It was an awesome day, so I will always love S&S!

  5. Insurgent and Sense and Sensibility are both amazing, I can’t wait to see what you think of them! I read the Fine Art of Truth or Dare, but wasn’t too impressed so I’m looking forward to seeing what you think. (:

Great list! I hope you get to read all your summer TBR

  6. 1. This could possibly be the best title for a blog post ever.
    2. get involved with Insurgent already 🙂
    3. I am interested to hear about Die for Me – Amy Plum. I picked it up and the main character seemed all Bella-Swan-boring, but maybe I was too harsh? I mean, Paris is a pretty good idea at any moment, so I should be more open to YA + Paris.

  7. Insurgent, Hallowed and Die For Me, yes yes yes! I hope to fit in The Fine Art of Truth or Dare and City of Lost Souls too. Happy summer reading, Candice!

  8. Hallowed might give you the sads. Watch out! It’s a super quick read, though. The Fine Art of Truth or Dare, I LOVED. And the Paris setting of Die For Me would make it a great beach read! Happy summer reading 🙂
